Team Specification

                Each team will have a minimum of 5 scouts and maximum of 8 scouts.  All members of the team must be properly clothed for cold and stormy weather.  Each team must submit a roster of each patrol.

 

Sled Specifications

                The sled must display the patrol flag.  The troop number.  The flag must be removable and on a staff.  The sled must be scout constructed.  An award will be given for the best patrol sled.  See diagram for sled information.  Please note that there are no specific guidelines for sleds, we only offer a diagram that may be improved upon if the patrol decides that they have a better plan.  An award will be presented for the most unique patrol sled.

 

Flag Specifications

                The flags will be judged at the Parade of Flags on Saturday.  At the specified time, the patrol leader should send his assistant with the Patrol Flag, to Headquarters for the judging.  Items that will be looked for include:       There are no specific flag guidelines.  The best looking patrol flag, in the opinion of the staff, will win.

                                                                                               

ALSO, THE PATROL LEADER SHOULD BRING HIS SCORE SHEET AND PATROL FLAG TO HEADQUARTERS AT THIS TIME AS WELL.

 

Camp Sites

                There will be ample camping space available at the meadows.   Troops must camp together in their designated area.  Each troop is responsible for its own camping equipment.  At no times should scouts or leaders walk through another campsite without requesting ‘permission to enter.’

 

Sled Safety

                The Patrol Leader is expected to be in complete control of his team at all times.  At no point in the derby should the safety of others around or in front of  the sled be compromised. 

 

Awards

            Ribbons will be presented for overall first, second and third place, first, second third, and fourth place in each event; sled, flag, and nugget pouch; campsite; medals will be presented to each patrol member for: Overall first, second, third place, and honor patrol; plaques will be presented for overall first, second, third place, honor patrol, best sled, best flag.  On average almost 200 ribbons are presented on Sunday at Awards
